Abstract

The study "Navigating the Social Landscape through Friendship Formation in Senior High School" focuses on forming friendships among Senior High School Students at Artacho National High School. The research used a mixed-methods approach, using a floating questionnaire and random interviews. With 111 respondents in the Quantitative Part and 20 respondents who underwent the interview with 3 sessions, the findings revealed that interests, hobbies, personality, gender, and social support influence friendship formation, with cultural, socioeconomic, and psychological aspects also playing a role. Social media and technology also impact friendship formation, with the latter affecting the expansion of social networks, trust, authenticity, misunderstandings, shared hobbies, and maintaining existing friendships. The study concludes that certain factors, such as social media and technology, influence friendship formation among senior high school students.
